What is ABA Therapy?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is therapy based on the science of learning and behavior.

Keepsake Learning Behavioral Center uses ABA based interventions to focus on improving specific behaviors, such as social skills and communication, as well as self-help/daily living skills, like toileting, feeding, hygiene & grooming.

Child Behavioral Therapy

ABA Therapy Helps Children in a Variety of Ways:

Child Behavioral Therapy

Teaches skills to replace problem behaviors

So your child can learn what “to do” instead of what “NOT to do.”
Child Behavioral Therapy

Increases your child's communication, social and self-help skills

Teaching your child to ask for a drink using words, signs or pictures.
Child Behavioral Therapy

Maintains behaviors

Teaching self-control and self-monitoring procedures to maintain appropriate social skills.
Child Behavioral Therapy

Changes responses to your child's behavior

Some responses could unintentionally be rewarding problem behavior.
Child Behavioral Therapy

Improves ability to focus and comply with tasks.

Using motivation/reinforcement to increase on-task behavior and your child’s ability to learn.
Child Behavioral Therapy

Increases positive behavior and reduce interfering behavior

Reinforcement procedures increase on-task behavior or social interactions and reduce behaviors like self-injury or aggression.
Child Behavioral Therapy

Generalizes or transfers behavior from one situation or response to another

Once the behavior is learned it should occur in other settings and with other individuals; examples: home & school, parent & teacher.
